HighSlide JS – web 2.0 made easy
Author: Janos
Just a quick one. If you are looking for some cool “web 2.0″ effects for your website, then have a look as HighSlide JS.
Highslide JS is an open source JavaScript software, offering a Web 2.0 approach to popup windows. It streamlines the use of thumbnail images and HTML popups on web pages. The library offers these features and advantages:
- No plugins like Flash or Java required.
- Popup blockers are no problem. The content expands within the active browser window.
- Single click. After opening the image or HTML popup, the user can scroll further down or leave the page without closing it.
- Compatibility and safe fallback. If the user has disabled JavaScript or is using an old browser, the browser redirects directly to the image itself or to a fallback HTML page.
I really like it and will use it in future projects.

Water and Health

As some you may know I am the webmaster of WaterMicron Industries, a manufacturer for Atmospheric Water Generators. While looking for some information about bottled and tab water to compare with the clean and pure drinking water their machines produce, I came across some very interesting and some funny as well as frightening facts. Thanks to pages like youtube or google video, I don’t have to bore you with a lot of text information, but instead show you here 4 of the most interesting videos on this matter.

IQ and Religious Believe

I always thought that believing in a god is in some way dumb… but don’t get me wrong, I don’t think people that believe in a god are dumb, I just think that particular believe is. I find it impossible to live my life the way I want when believing in a god, as it would mean I am not in total control over my life and can’t do what I feel is right or good, instead there would be a higher being guiding and judging me like a parent. Not that I think guidance by parents is wrong, but eventually you should be old enough to take control of you life and deal with the consequences of your actions. Hence be free from anyone controlling/judging/guiding your life. Anyways, I liked the documentary, and I would love to discuss this subject in the comments.

Then click on the picture above to go to www.photofunia.com, there you can upload any picture and it will be put into MANY different pictures like this one automatically.
And while I am at it, if you look for some FREE software to RESIZE or MANAGE you photos, then have a look at FastStone and download the “FastStone Image Viewer” and the “FastStone Photo Resizer”. It’s a nice alternative to Picasa, which is a (also free) photo library software made by google.

There is this “proven” theory, that kids that grow up in an abusive family, tend to later live in the same kind of family of their own, either with an abusive partner or being abusive themselves. It makes me sad, that these individuals cannot get over their childhood trauma and move on. However, I find it simply puzzeling, how an entire country of people who have been almost exterminated by Hitler, can abuse other people now to such an extend as they do in Ghaza. I also don’t understand, why there aren’t any sanctions by the UN or loud outcries by human rights organizations for the crimes and human rights violations that Israel commits. It seems to me that “people” simply give them a free pass to do to the Palestinians what has been done to them in Germany before.
Sorry for such a post right between Christmas and New Years eve, but it’s on my mind right now, and I want to share my thoughts. Have a Happy New Year nonetheless.
